Method

Build (single cocktail or pitcher)

1

Prepare sweet & sour (if not using store mix)

If you don't have ready sweet & sour mix, make a quick version by combining equal parts fresh lemon juice and simple syrup. For this recipe quantity use 1/2 cup lemon juice and 1/2 cup simple syrup (already listed). Stir together and set aside.

2

Fill shaker or pitcher with ice

Fill a cocktail shaker (for single servings) or a large mixing pitcher (for multiple servings) with plenty of cubed ice to chill the liquids quickly.

3

Add spirits and mix

Pour the vodka, white rum, gin, tequila, and triple sec over the ice. Add the fresh lemon juice and the sweet & sour mix (or the quick homemade mix prepared above).

4

Shake or stir

If using a shaker for one or two drinks, cap and shake vigorously for 10–12 seconds until well chilled. If using a pitcher, stir briskly for 10–15 seconds to combine and chill.

5

Prepare serving glass

Fill a highball or Collins glass about three-quarters full with fresh ice. Strain the shaken mixture into the glass, leaving room at top for cola.

6

Top with cola

Gently top the strained cocktail with chilled cola (about 1/4 to 1/3 of the glass, approximately 1 cup here). Pour slowly to preserve some fizz and create a slightly layered appearance.

7

Garnish and serve

Garnish with a lemon wedge or wheel on the rim. Serve with a straw and a stirring stick so the drink can be mixed before sipping. Optionally adjust acidity or sweetness by adding a squeeze of lemon or a dash more simple syrup to taste.
