Cooking Instructions
- 1
Marinate the Chicken
In a large bowl, combine chicken thighs and buttermilk. Ensure all pieces are coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
- 2
Prepare the Coating
In a shallow dish, mix flour, cornmeal, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
- 3
Heat the Oil
In a large skillet or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Use a thermometer for accuracy.
- 4
Coat the Chicken
Remove chicken from the buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture, pressing to adhere.
- 5
Fry the Chicken
Carefully place coated chicken thighs in the hot oil. Fry in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- 6
Drain and Serve
Once cooked, remove chicken and drain on paper towels. Serve hot with your favorite sides.
