Rim the edge of a cocktail glass with a lime wedge and dip it into salt to coat.

In a cocktail shaker, combine Jose Cuervo Gold Tequila, fresh lime juice, simple syrup, and orange liqueur. Add ice cubes.

Shake the mixture vigorously for about 15 seconds until well chilled.

Strain the cocktail into the prepared glass filled with fresh ice, if desired.
