Method
Prepare Honey Syrup
Make simple honey syrup
Combine 2 tablespoons honey and 2 tablespoons hot water in a small bowl or jar. Stir vigorously until honey dissolves and mixture is uniform. Allow to cool to room temperature before using. This yields a pourable syrup that blends easily into cold cocktails.
Mix Cocktail
Chill glass: If desired, place a coupe or rocks glass in the freezer for a few minutes or fill with ice water while you prepare the cocktail.
Measure and combine: In a cocktail shaker, add 2 oz Figenza Fig vodka, 0.75 oz freshly squeezed lemon juice (about half a lemon), and 0.5 oz honey syrup.
Prepare serving glass: If you used ice water to chill the glass, dump it now. Add 4 fresh ice cubes to a rocks glass (for an on-the-rocks presentation) or leave the coupe chilled if serving up.
Strain: Double-strain the cocktail into the prepared glass using a fine mesh strainer over the shaker's built-in strainer (this removes small ice shards and any pulp).
Garnish: Thread a fresh fig wedge onto a cocktail pick or express a lemon twist over the drink to release oils, then drop the twist in. Place the garnish on the rim or float it on top.
Serve immediately: Present right away so the cocktail remains cold and properly diluted.
