Powerade Mountain Berry Blast (batch for 4 servings)

Method

Preparation

1

Chill and prep glassware

Place four serving glasses in the refrigerator or freezer for 5–10 minutes to chill while you prepare the drink. This helps keep the drink cold without diluting it quickly.

2

Prepare berry purée

If using frozen berries, allow them to thaw slightly (5–10 minutes). In a blender combine 1 cup mixed berries and 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice. Blend on high for 20–30 seconds until mostly smooth but still slightly textured. If you prefer a smoother texture, blend an additional 10–15 seconds. Optionally strain the purée through a fine mesh sieve to remove seeds for a smoother drink.

3

Sweeten to taste

Taste the berry purée. Add 2 tablespoons simple syrup if you want a sweeter, more dessert-like profile, or omit/adjust to taste depending on how sweet the Powerade already is. Stir the purée or re-blend briefly to incorporate the sweetener.

4

Combine with Powerade

Pour 32 oz (about 4 cups) of cold Powerade Mountain Berry Blast into a large pitcher. Add the prepared berry purée to the pitcher and stir gently for 15–20 seconds until the purée is evenly distributed. Do not over-stir to preserve slight berry texture and color streaking.

5

Assemble servings

Remove chilled glasses. Fill each glass with about 1.5 cups (approx. 1.5 cups = 12 oz) of crushed ice. Pour the mixed Powerade and berry blend evenly among the four glasses (about 8 oz per glass), leaving room for garnish. If desired, top with a small additional splash of Powerade for color and fizz.

6

Garnish and finish

Gently slap mint leaves between your palms to release aroma and tuck 1–2 leaves into each glass. Add a lemon slice to the rim of each glass. Optionally scatter 2–3 whole berries on top of the ice for a fresh look. Serve immediately with a straw.

7

Notes on scaling and variations

To make a single serving (12–16 oz), use 8 oz Powerade, 1/4 cup berries, 1/2 tablespoon lemon juice, and 1/2 tablespoon simple syrup. For a frozen slushy version, blend the combined Powerade and berry purée with 2 cups of ice until smooth.
