Method
Punch Base
Combine juices
In a large pitcher or punch bowl (at least 3 quart capacity), pour 6 cups of Hi-C Fruit Punch, 1 cup pineapple juice and 1 cup orange juice. Stir gently to combine so the flavors marry without losing fizz (if using a carbonated Hi-C varietal, proceed gently).
Brighten with lemon
Add 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice to the juice mixture and stir. Taste and adjust acidity if desired by adding up to 1 more tablespoon of lemon juice.
Sparkle & Sweetness
Sweeten and add sparkle
Add 3 teaspoons simple syrup to the punch and stir until incorporated. Immediately before serving, gently stir in 2 cups cold club soda or lemon-lime soda to add effervescence. If you prefer a sweeter, fully carbonated punch, use lemon-lime soda; for a lighter fizzy finish use club soda.
Fruit & Garnish
Prepare fruit
Place 1 cup frozen mixed berries in the bottom of the pitcher or a large punch bowl; the frozen fruit will chill the punch and release some berry flavor as it thaws. Add 1 cup pineapple chunks and arrange 8 thin orange slices in the bowl or on top of the fruit so they float attractively.
Add ice and mint
Just before serving, add 6 cups of ice cubes to the punch (or fill serving glasses with ice). Gently float or tuck 8 fresh mint leaves among the fruit for aroma and a fresh look.
Serve
Ladle punch into glasses, making sure each serving gets a portion of fruit. Garnish each glass with an additional orange slice or a sprig of mint if desired. If punch will sit for more than 20–30 minutes, keep extra soda chilled and add more right before serving to maintain fizz.
