Ingredients

Base Soda

Ice

Optional Add-ins

Preparation

Prepare Glass and Ice

1. Chill glass (optional)

If desired, place the serving glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes to help keep the drink colder longer.

2. Fill the chilled or room-temperature glass with 1 cup of ice cubes, leaving about ½ inch (1–1.5 cm) of headspace at the top.

Dispense Soda

3. Select your preferred fountain soda flavor. Hold the glass at a slight angle (about 45°) under the fountain nozzle to minimize foaming.

4. Gently press the dispenser and fill the glass to about ¾–7/8 full (approximately 12 fl oz of soda), leaving room for any add-ins and a small foam head.

Add Optional Flavorings and Garnish

5. If using flavored syrup or concentrate, add 1/2 teaspoon (adjust to taste) into the filled soda and stir gently with a long spoon to combine. Taste and add up to another 1/2 tsp if you prefer a stronger flavor.

6. Squeeze the lemon or lime wedge over the drink if using, then drop the wedge into the glass for extra aroma and a slight citrus bite.

7. Top with a maraschino cherry and/or a mint sprig for garnish, if desired.

Serve

8. Serve immediately with a straw. Advise the drinker to stir again before sipping if add-ins were used, as syrups may settle.
