Preparation

Prepare the BBQ Turkey

1. Season and warm turkey

In a medium bowl, toss the shredded or chopped cooked turkey with olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated.

2. Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add the seasoned turkey and cook, stirring, for 2–3 minutes just to warm and develop a little color. If turkey is already hot, simply warm for 1–2 minutes.

3. Stir in 3 tablespoons BBQ sauce and cook 30–45 seconds until sauce is warmed and clings to the turkey. Remove from heat and set aside to cool slightly.

Make the Dressing

4. In a small bowl, whisk together the ranch dressing, 1 tablespoon extra BBQ sauce, fresh lime juice, and hot sauce (if using) until smooth and uniform. Taste and adjust: add more lime for brightness or more BBQ for sweetness/smokiness.

Assemble the Salad

5. Place 3 cups mixed salad greens in a shallow bowl or plate as the base.

6. Evenly scatter 1/2 cup shredded red cabbage, halved cherry tomatoes, cucumber slices, and the thinly sliced red onion over the greens.

7. Spoon the warmed BBQ turkey over the top of the salad, distributing it across the greens.

8. Sprinkle the corn kernels, black beans, and shredded cheese over the turkey and greens.

9. Drizzle the BBQ–ranch dressing over the assembled salad, using all or part to taste. Toss gently if you prefer mixed salad, or leave layered for presentation.

10. Top with tortilla strips or crushed chips for crunch and scatter chopped cilantro. Add sliced jalapeño if using for heat.

11. Serve immediately with a lime wedge on the side to squeeze over the salad.
