Juice & Measure
Roll 1 lime firmly on the counter to loosen juices, cut in half and squeeze to yield 1 oz fresh lime juice. Measure 2 oz reposado tequila, 0.5 oz triple sec, and 0.5 tablespoon agave syrup.
Rim (optional)
If salting the rim: rub a lime wedge around the outside rim of a rocks or coupe glass, then dip the rim into a shallow plate of coarse salt to lightly coat. Set glass aside.
Shake
In a cocktail shaker filled with about 1 cup ice, add the reposado tequila, fresh lime juice, triple sec, and agave syrup. Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until the shaker is cold to the touch and the ingredients are well combined and slightly diluted.
Strain & Serve
Fill the prepared serving glass with 3–4 large ice cubes. Double-strain the cocktail into the glass (use a fine mesh strainer if available to catch ice shards).
Garnish & Finish
Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge on the rim. Serve immediately.
