Kirs (per serving)

Method

Kirs (single serving)

1

Chill glass (optional)

If you prefer a very cold drink, fill a wine or old-fashioned glass with ice cubes and cold water. Let sit while you prepare the drink, then discard the ice and water just before assembling.

2

Measure liqueur

Pour 1/2 fl oz (about 15 ml) of crème de cassis into the bottom of a chilled wine glass.

3

Add wine

Slowly pour 5 fl oz (about 150 ml) of chilled dry white wine into the glass over the back of a spoon or down the side to help the liqueur and wine mix gently.

4

Finish and garnish

Stir gently once or twice to combine if desired. Garnish with a lemon twist on the rim or dropped into the glass if using. Serve immediately.

Batch preparation (6 servings)

5

Combine

In a pitcher, pour 3 fl oz (about 90 ml) crème de cassis, then add 30 fl oz (about 900 ml) chilled dry white wine. Stir gently to combine; avoid vigorous stirring to prevent flattening the wine.

6

Serve

Pour into six chilled glasses and garnish each with a lemon twist if desired. Serve immediately.
