Add ingredients to mixing glass
In a mixing glass or pint glass, combine 1 oz Plymouth gin, 1 oz Mancino Secco (dry vermouth), and 2 dashes of orange bitters.
Prepare glass and garnish
If you used ice water to chill the serving glass, discard the ice water and dry the glass. Use a vegetable peeler or small knife to cut a lemon twist (approx. 1" x 3" strip of peel), avoiding too much pith.
Strain and express oils
Using a julep or fine strainer, double-strain the chilled mixture into the chilled coupe or martini glass. Hold the lemon twist over the drink and gently pinch it, skin-side down, to express the oils over the surface; then run the rim of the glass with the twist and drop it into the drink (or discard, per preference).
Serve
Present immediately. The 50:50 is best enjoyed cold and freshly stirred.
