Method
Cocktail
Chill glass
Place a martini/coupe glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes or fill it with ice water while you prepare the cocktail so the glass is well chilled.
Add Absolut Citron vodka (2 oz), Cointreau (1 oz), fresh lime juice (0.75 oz), and cranberry juice (1 oz) into a cocktail shaker.
Fill the shaker with ice (about 1 cup or enough to come two-thirds up the shaker).
Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds, until the outside of the shaker is very cold and slightly frosted. This both chills and dilutes the cocktail to balance the flavors.
Dump the ice or water from the chilled glass. Double-strain the cocktail into the chilled martini/coupe glass using a Hawthorne strainer and, optionally, a fine mesh strainer to remove small ice shards and any pulp from the lime juice.
Garnish + Serve
Garnish with a lime wheel on the rim or a lime twist floated on the surface. Optionally drop a single cranberry into the drink for visual contrast.
Serve immediately. The recipe yields one cocktail sized for a standard 4–6 oz martini/coupe glass.
