Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Take the ribeye steaks out of the refrigerator and let them sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes to ensure even cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Rub the steaks with olive oil, then season both sides generously with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.

Cooking the Steak

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat the grill to high heat (about 450-500°F or 230-260°C).

  2. 4

    Grill the Steak

Place the steaks on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness is achieved.

  3. 5

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing to allow the juices to redistribute.

Garlic Mashed Potatoes Preparation

  1. 6

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel and chop the potatoes into equal-sized chunks (about 1 inch).

  2. 7

    Cook the Potatoes

Place the chopped potatoes in a large pot and cover with cold water. Add a pinch of salt and bring to a boil. Cook for about 15-20 minutes until the potatoes are tender.

Garlic Mashed Potatoes Finishing

  1. 8

    Sauté the Garlic

While the potatoes are cooking, in a small saucepan, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.

  2. 9

    Mash the Potatoes

Drain the cooked potatoes and return them to the pot. Add the sautéed garlic, remaining butter, milk, salt, and black pepper. Mash until smooth and creamy.
