Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Tomatoes

Dice the tomatoes and place them in a mixing bowl.

  2. 2

    Add Seasoning

Chop the fresh basil leaves and add them to the bowl with the diced tomatoes. Mince the garlic cloves and add them as well. Pour in the balsamic vinegar, and sprinkle with salt and black pepper. Mix gently until combined.

Bread Preparation

  1. 3

    Slice the Bread

Cut the baguette into 1/2 inch thick slices.

  2. 4

    Grill the Bread

Brush both sides of each slice with olive oil. Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium heat. Grill the bread slices for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until they are toasted and have grill marks.

Assembly

  1. 5

    Top the Bread

Remove the grilled bread from the heat and let it cool slightly. Spoon the tomato mixture generously onto each slice of grilled bread.

  2. 6

    Serve

Arrange the bruschetta on a serving platter and serve immediately as an appetizer or snack.
