Bloody Mary Cocktail
Garnish
Rim (optional)
Method
Prepare Glass
Optional rim
If rimming the glass, rub the lemon wedge around the outer rim of a highball or pint glass. Dip the rim into a shallow plate of kosher or celery salt to coat. Set the glass aside.
Fill the prepared glass with ice to chill while you mix the drink.
Mix Cocktail
In a cocktail shaker (or mixing glass) add 1 cup of cubed ice.
Pour in 2 oz vodka, 4 oz tomato juice, and 0.5 oz fresh lemon juice.
Add 0.5 tsp Worcestershire sauce and 0.5 tsp prepared horseradish.
Add 3 dashes of hot sauce (adjust to taste), a pinch of celery salt, and a pinch of freshly ground black pepper.
Secure the shaker cap (or use a long spoon if using a mixing glass) and roll or gently shake for about 8–10 seconds. The goal is to chill and lightly dilute the drink without frothing it excessively.
Taste and adjust seasoning: add another dash of hot sauce, a little more horseradish, or a squeeze of lemon if needed.
Strain (if you used a shaker) or pour the mixture over fresh ice in the chilled prepared glass.
Garnish & Serve
Garnish the drink with a celery stalk and a lemon wedge on the rim.
Optional: spear a green olive or other garnish (pickle spear, cooked shrimp, or bacon strip) on a cocktail pick and rest it across the glass.
Serve immediately with a straw. Recommend providing a small spoon or stirrer so the drinker can re-mix before sipping as seasonings settle.
