Bud Light is brewed using a blend of premium aroma hop varieties, both American-grown and imported, and a combination of barley malts and rice. Its superior drinkability and refreshing flavor makes it the world’s favorite light beer.

Start by measuring out 100 liters of clean and filtered water. This will be the primary ingredient in your lager.

Prepare the Brewing Water

In a large mash tun, add 15 kilograms of barley malt and 5 kilograms of rice to the water. Heat the mixture to 65°C (149°F) and hold for 60 minutes to convert starches into sugars.

Mashing

After mashing, transfer the mixture to a lauter tun to separate the liquid wort from the solid grains. Rinse the grains with hot water to extract as much sugar as possible, collecting a total of about 70 liters of wort.

Lautering

Bring the wort to a boil and add 200 grams of aroma hops. Boil for 60 minutes, allowing the hops to infuse their flavors into the wort.

Boiling

After boiling, cool the wort quickly to around 20°C (68°F) using a wort chiller. This helps to prevent contamination and prepares the wort for fermentation.

Cooling the Wort

Transfer the cooled wort to a sanitized fermentation vessel and pitch in 50 grams of lager yeast. Seal the vessel and allow it to ferment at around 10°C (50°F) for 2 weeks.

Fermentation

After fermentation, transfer the beer to a conditioning tank. Allow it to mature for another week at a slightly lower temperature to enhance the flavor profile.

Conditioning

Once conditioning is complete, package the beer in bottles or kegs. Carbonate if desired and store in a cool place until ready to serve.
