Preparation
- 1
Muddle the Basil
In a cocktail shaker, add the fresh basil leaves. Use a muddler or the back of a spoon to gently press the leaves to release their essential oils. This will infuse the drink with a lovely basil flavor.
- 2
Add the Liquids
Pour in the gin, lemon juice, and elderflower liqueur into the shaker with the muddled basil.
- 3
Shake it Up
Fill the shaker with ice and secure the lid. Shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds to chill the mixture and combine all the ingredients.
- 4
Strain into Glass
Take a tall glass and fill it with ice. Strain the mixture from the shaker over the ice, ensuring you leave behind the basil leaves.
- 5
Add Soda
Top the drink with soda water and give it a gentle stir to combine.
