Strawberry Shake

In a large pot, bring 5 cups of water to a boil. Once boiling, remove from heat and add 2 cups of barley malt. Stir well to combine and let sit for 30 minutes to allow the grains to steep.

Step 1: Prepare the Mash

After the steeping time, return the pot to the heat and bring the mixture to a boil again. Add 0.5 cups of hops and boil for 60 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Step 2: Boil the Mixture

After boiling, remove the pot from heat and let it cool down to room temperature. You can also place the pot in an ice bath to speed up the cooling process.

Step 3: Cool the Wort

Once cooled, transfer the wort to a sanitized fermentation vessel. Add 1 tsp of yeast and 0.5 cups of sugar. Seal the vessel with an airlock and let it ferment in a dark, cool place for 1-2 weeks.

Step 4: Fermentation

During the last few days of fermentation, add 1 tbs of orange peel, 1 tbs of coriander, and 0.25 cups of honey to the vessel. Stir gently to incorporate.

Step 5: Adding Flavor

After fermentation is complete, transfer the brew into sanitized bottles, leaving a little space at the top. Seal the bottles and let them carbonate at room temperature for another week.

Step 6: Bottling

Chill your Hoax Brew in the refrigerator and enjoy it fresh or take it home to share with friends!
