OLD FASHIONED

Chill the wine bottle in the refrigerator for at least 1–2 hours prior to serving (or 20–30 minutes in an ice bucket) so the Riesling is nicely cool but not ice-cold. Lightly chill serving glasses if desired.

Chill and ready

Place 3–4 ice cubes into each wine glass or stemless glass. Add 1 thin lemon slice and a few peach or grape slices to each glass for aroma and visual appeal. Tuck a mint sprig into each glass or set beside it.

Pour the chilled Villa Wolf-Pfalz Riesling into a large pitcher or directly into glasses. For a straight pour, fill each glass about two-thirds full (about 5–6 fl oz / 150–180 ml). For a lighter, more refreshing spritzer, fill glasses half with Riesling and top with sparkling water (about 3–4 fl oz / 90–120 ml sparkling water per glass).

Serve straight or as a spritzer

If you prefer slightly sweeter wine, stir 1/2 teaspoon of simple syrup into each glass (adjust to taste). Gently stir the contents of each glass once to combine flavors without flattening the bubbles if using sparkling water.

Garnish each glass with the reserved lemon slice on the rim and a mint sprig. Serve immediately so the wine retains its aromatics and the spritzer retains effervescence.

Enjoy as an aperitif, with light salads, seafood, or mildly spiced dishes. Store any leftover opened bottle upright in the refrigerator and consume within 2–3 days for best freshness.
