Method

Dough Preparation

1

Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water (110°F to 115°F) with sugar and yeast. Stir gently and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes or until frothy.

2

Combine Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Mix well.

3

Mix Dough

Make a well in the center of the flour mixture and pour in the activated yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.

4

Knead Dough

Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

5

Let Dough Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Assembling Pizza

6

Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat up.

7

Shape Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and turn it out onto a floured surface. Roll or stretch it out to your desired thickness.

8

Add Sauce and Toppings

Transfer the shaped dough to a pizza peel or baking sheet. Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the dough. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top, followed by fresh basil and grated Parmesan cheese.

9

Bake Pizza

Carefully slide the pizza onto the preheated oven or pizza stone. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.

10

Finish and Serve

Once baked, remove the pizza from the oven, drizzle with olive oil, and let it cool for a few minutes. Slice and serve hot.
