Method

Yogurt Drink Base

1

Measure and combine

Place 0.25 cup plain whole-milk yogurt into a small bowl or a tall mixing cup. Add 0.7 cup cold water to the yogurt.

2

Sweeten and season

Add 0.5 tsp granulated sugar and a pinch of fine sea salt to the yogurt-water mixture. Add 0.25 tsp fresh lemon juice to brighten the flavor.

3

Whisk until smooth

Whisk vigorously with a small whisk or use an immersion blender for 10–20 seconds until the mixture is completely smooth, slightly frothy, and homogenous. The texture should be thin enough to sip — about the consistency of a slightly thin buttermilk.

4

Adjust consistency

If the drink is thicker than desired, add up to 1 tablespoon (15 ml) additional cold water and whisk again. If too thin, add a scant teaspoon of yogurt and whisk to incorporate.

Optional Flavoring

5

If using spices or herbs, stir in 0.125 tsp ground roasted cumin and/or 0.5 tsp finely chopped mint. Taste and adjust: add a tiny pinch more sugar or lemon if needed.

Garnish & Serve

6

If desired, add 0.25 cup crushed ice to a 2.2 oz (approximately 65 ml) serving glass (or use chilled glass). Pour the yogurt drink into the serving glass, garnish with a small mint sprig, and serve immediately.
