Method

Preparation Steps

1

Prepare the Pie Crust

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Roll out the pie crust and fit it into a 9-inch pie pan. Prick the bottom with a fork and bake for 10 minutes or until lightly golden. Remove from the oven and set aside.

2

Make the Salted Caramel

In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the granulated sugar and corn syrup, stirring until the mixture is smooth. Allow it to boil for about 5 minutes without stirring, then carefully add the heavy cream. Stir until combined and bring it back to a gentle simmer for another 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in the sea salt.

3

Combine the Filling Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs and vanilla extract. Gradually add the warm caramel mixture, whisking continuously to prevent the eggs from scrambling. Fold in the pecan halves until evenly coated.

4

Assemble the Pie

Pour the pecan and caramel filling into the pre-baked pie crust, spreading it evenly.

5

Bake the Pie

Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the filling is set and the top is golden brown. Remove from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack.

6

Serve

Once cooled, slice the pie and serve. Optionally, drizzle additional salted caramel on top before serving.
