Baking Instructions

1

Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease four ramekins with butter and dust them with cocoa powder.

2

Melt Chocolate and Butter

In a heatproof bowl, combine the dark chocolate and unsalted butter. Melt them together in a microwave or over a double boiler until smooth. Stir well to combine.

3

Mix the Batter

In a separate bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined. Gradually add the melted chocolate mixture, mixing until smooth. Sift in the flour and salt, and fold gently until just combined.

4

Fill Ramekins

Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins, filling each about 3/4 full.

5

Bake

Place the ramekins on a baking tray and bake in the preheated oven for 12-14 minutes, or until the edges are firm but the center is still soft.

6

Serve

Remove from the oven and let cool for 1 minute. Invert each ramekin onto a plate, allowing the lava cake to release. Serve immediately with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
