Method
Scoop
- 1
Soften and scoop
Remove the vanilla ice cream from the freezer 2–3 minutes before serving so it’s slightly scoopable. Use an ice cream scoop warmed in hot water or run under warm tap for 10 seconds, then dry, and form one neat scoop into a chilled small bowl or serving dish.
Fresh fruit
- 2
Prepare strawberries
Rinse the strawberries under cold water, pat dry, remove the stems, and slice each berry into 4 thin slices. Arrange the slices fanned around or gently on top of the ice cream scoop.
Chocolate sauce
- 3
Make quick chocolate sauce
Place the chocolate chips, heavy cream, and sugar in a small microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 10–15 second bursts, stirring between each burst, until the chocolate is melted and the mixture is smooth (about 30–45 seconds total). If using, stir in the butter until melted for extra gloss. Alternatively, melt over a double boiler, stirring until smooth.

Finish and serve
Let the sauce cool for 15–20 seconds so it’s slightly warm (not steaming). Drizzle the chocolate sauce over the ice cream and strawberries in a thin stream. Add the mint leaf beside the scoop for color if using. Serve immediately.
