Prepare glass
Choose an old-fashioned (rocks) glass. Add 4 large ice cubes to chill the glass and keep the drink cold without excessive dilution.

Pour 1 oz Campari over the ice, then add 1 oz sweet vermouth directly into the glass.

Top with soda
Gently top with 2 oz club soda. Pour slowly down the side or over a bar spoon to preserve carbonation and create a slight layering effect.

Using a bar spoon, stir the drink gently for 6–8 seconds (about 6–8 full rotations) to integrate ingredients and chill the cocktail without flattening the soda.

Garnish and serve
Express the oils of an orange peel over the surface by holding it skin-side down above the glass and giving it a firm twist, then rub the peel on the rim and drop it into the drink. Serve immediately with a short straw if desired.
