Cocktail
Garnish & Serving
Tang Infusion (makes ~8 oz infused vodka)
Method
Tang Infusion
Make Tang-infused vodka (advance 2–24 hours)
In a clean jar, combine 8 oz plain vodka with 2 tablespoons Tang powder. Stir vigorously until the powder fully dissolves. Seal and let sit at room temperature for at least 2 hours for a bright orange flavor; for a stronger, sweeter aroma allow up to 24 hours. Taste after 2 hours and strain through a fine mesh or coffee filter into a clean bottle to remove any undissolved solids. Chill before using. Store refrigerated up to 2 weeks.
Cocktail Assembly
If rimming the glass: pour orange sugar onto a small plate. Rub the rim of a chilled martini or coupe glass with a cut orange, then dip the rim into the orange sugar to coat. Set glass aside.
Fill a cocktail shaker with the ice cubes.
Add 2 oz Grey Goose L'orange, 1 oz Tang-infused vodka, 0.5 oz orange liqueur, 0.5 oz fresh orange juice, and 0.25 oz simple syrup (omit if you prefer less sweet) to the shaker.
Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the shaker is well chilled and slightly frosted.
Double-strain the mixture into the prepared chilled martini glass using a Hawthorne or fine mesh strainer to remove small ice shards.
Express an orange twist over the drink to release oils, then drop the twist or float an orange wheel on the surface as garnish.
Serve immediately.
