Glass & Garnish

Method

Glass & Garnish

1

Prepare glass

Run the lime wedge around the rim of a rocks or highball glass to moisten. Dip the rim into Tajín spread on a small plate so the seasoning adheres evenly. Set the glass aside.

2

Garnish

Cut a ruby red grapefruit wheel or wedge for garnish and reserve. If you want a prickly-pear accent, reserve a thin slice of fresh prickly pear (optional).

Cocktail

3

Build & shake

In a cocktail shaker, add 2 oz Teremana Reposado, 0.5 oz Cantina tequila, 2 oz fresh ruby red grapefruit juice, 1 oz prickly pear purée, 0.5 oz fresh lime juice, 0.5 oz agave syrup, and a handful of ice. Secure the shaker and shake vigorously for about 10–15 seconds until well chilled and slightly frothy.

4

Strain

Fill the prepared glass with fresh large ice cubes (or crushed ice if preferred). Double-strain the shaken mixture into the glass to remove pulp and seeds so the drink is smooth.

5

Top with soda

Gently top the cocktail with 2 oz soda water. Stir once or twice lightly with a bar spoon to integrate but preserve effervescence.

6

Finish & serve

Float a thin ribbon of prickly pear purée or drizzle 0.25 oz extra prickly pear down the side for color contrast (optional). Garnish with the grapefruit wheel on the rim and a light dusting of Tajín over the grapefruit if desired. Serve immediately with a straw.
