Sides Preparation

1

Preparing French Fries

Peel and slice potatoes into thin strips. Rinse in cold water and pat dry. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C). Fry in batches until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes. Drain on paper towels and season with salt to taste.

2

Making Onion Rings

Slice onions into ½-inch thick rings. In a bowl, mix flour, cornmeal, salt, and pepper. Dip onion rings in the batter and fry in hot oil (350°F or 175°C) until golden, about 3-4 minutes. Drain on paper towels.

3

Preparing Coleslaw

Shred cabbage and carrots. In a bowl, mix mayonnaise, vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper. Combine with shredded vegetables and toss well. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.

4

Making Sweet Potato Fries

Peel and cut sweet potatoes into fries. Toss with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Spread on a baking sheet and bake in a preheated oven at 425°F (220°C) for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until crispy.

Drinks Preparation

5

Serving Soda

Chill soda in the refrigerator or serve over ice in a glass. Optionally, garnish with a slice of lemon.

6

Making Lemonade

In a pitcher, mix freshly squeezed lemon juice, sugar, and water. Stir until the sugar is dissolved. Serve over ice for a refreshing drink.

7

Preparing Iced Tea

Brew black tea according to package instructions. Allow to cool and then serve over ice. Add lemon or mint for extra flavor, if desired.

8

Serving Water

Serve cold water in a glass, optionally adding ice and a slice of lemon or cucumber for flavor.
