Strawberry Shake

Enjoy a creamy and refreshing regular-sized strawberry shake made with ripe strawberries and smooth vanilla ice cream.

Carefully harvest 5 kg of ripe Zinfandel grapes from the vineyard, ensuring that they are free of any rot or blemishes.

Harvesting Grapes

In a clean winemaking vessel, crush and destem the grapes to release the juice. This can be done using a manual crusher or a mechanical grape crusher.

Crushing and Destemming

Add 2 liters of water to the crushed grapes to create a must. Gradually stir in 300 g of sugar until fully dissolved to assist in fermentation.

Adding Water and Sugar

Sprinkle 10 g of wine yeast evenly over the surface of the must. Allow it to hydrate for about 15 minutes before stirring gently into the mixture.

Pitching Yeast

Cover the fermentation vessel with a clean cloth and let it ferment at room temperature (around 20-25°C) for about 7-10 days, stirring daily to avoid mold formation.

Fermentation

After fermentation, press the mixture to separate the liquid wine from the solid grape skins. Use a wine press or a clean cloth to extract as much juice as possible.

Pressing

Transfer the liquid into a clean fermentation barrel or glass carboy. Add 50 g of medium toast oak chips to the wine for aging. Seal the vessel and let it age for at least 6 months, checking periodically.

Aging with Oak Chips

Once aged, siphon the wine into clean bottles, taking care to leave sediment behind. Seal the bottles with corks or caps. Label them appropriately.
