Cocktail
Method
Cocktail
- 1
Muddle
Place 6 fresh mint leaves and 0.5 oz simple syrup in a mixing glass or cocktail shaker. Gently muddle the mint just enough to release aromatic oils—do not pulverize; you want bright mint flavor without excessive bitterness.
- 2
Build
Add 2 oz vodka, 2 oz pomegranate juice, and 0.5 oz fresh lemon juice to the shaker with the muddled mint.
- 3
Shake
Fill the shaker with ice (about 1 cup cubed) and shake vigorously for about 12–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker is cold and you see good dilution.
- 4
Strain
Double-strain the cocktail into a chilled rocks glass over fresh ice (use a julep or Hawthorne strainer plus a fine mesh sieve) to keep mint fragments out of the drink.
- 5
Garnish & Finish
Float 1 tablespoon pomegranate arils on the surface and tuck a fresh mint sprig into the glass. Optionally express a mint leaf over the drink to release extra aroma. Serve immediately.
