Method
Preparation
Shucking the Oysters
Carefully shuck the fresh oysters using an oyster knife. Hold the oyster in a towel with the flat side up. Insert the knife into the hinge and twist to open it, being careful not to spill the juices.
Preparing the Serving Platter
Fill a large serving platter or a shallow dish with crushed ice to create a bed for the oysters. This will help keep them cold while serving.
Arranging the Oysters
Place the shucked oysters on top of the crushed ice with the cupped side down to hold the juices. Arrange them in a circle or any preferred pattern.
Cutting the Lemon
Cut the lemon into wedges. Place the wedges around the oysters on the serving platter for garnish and flavor.
