Cooking Instructions

1

Prepare the Steak

Remove the filet mignon from the refrigerator and let it rest at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking. This helps it cook evenly.

2

Season the Steak

Pat the steak dry with paper towels. Rub both sides with olive oil, then season generously with salt and black pepper. Press the seasoning into the meat.

3

Preheat the Pan

Heat a cast-iron skillet over high heat until it’s very hot, about 5 minutes.

4

Sear the Steak

Add the filet mignon to the hot skillet. Sear for about 3-4 minutes without moving it. Flip the steak and sear the other side for another 3-4 minutes for medium-rare.

5

Add Aromatics

During the last minute of cooking, add butter and fresh rosemary to the pan. Baste the steak with the melted butter for extra flavor.

6

Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest on a cutting board for 5-10 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.

7

Serve

Slice the filet mignon and serve with your favorite sides. Enjoy your perfectly cooked steak!
