Cornbread Ingredients

Method

Cornbread Preparation

1

Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and place a cast-iron skillet inside to heat up.

2

Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together the cornmeal, all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.

3

Melt Duck Fat

In a saucepan, melt the duck fat over medium heat and then stir in the honey until combined.

4

Combine Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, whisk together the melted duck fat mixture, eggs, and milk until smooth.

5

Combine Mixtures

Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.

6

Bake the Cornbread

Carefully remove the hot skillet from the oven, pour in the cornbread batter, and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
