Pasta
Boil Water
In a large pot, bring 2 liters of water to a rolling boil. Add 1 tsp of salt to the water.
Cook Spaghetti
Add 200 grams of spaghetti to the boiling water. Cook according to package instructions, usually about 8-10 minutes, until al dente.
Drain Spaghetti
Once cooked, drain the spaghetti in a colander and set aside.
Pasta Sauce
Add Tomatoes and Spices
Stir in 400 grams of crushed canned tomatoes. Add 1 tsp of dried basil, 1 tsp of dried oregano, 1 tsp of salt, 1 tsp of black pepper, and 1 tsp of sugar. Mix well.
Simmer Sauce
Reduce heat to low and let the sauce simmer for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Adjust seasoning to taste.
Garlic Bread
Toast Garlic Bread
Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F). Place the baguette halves on a baking sheet and bake for about 10-12 minutes, until golden brown and crispy.
Serving
Combine and Serve
Place the drained spaghetti on serving plates, top with the pasta sauce, and serve with garlic bread on the side. Pour 500 ml of sparkling water into glasses for a refreshing drink.
