Mulberry Limeade

Method

Mulberry Limeade

1

Prepare glass and muddle

Place 4–6 fresh mulberries in the bottom of a mixing glass or cocktail shaker. Add the fresh lime juice and simple syrup. Using a muddler or the back of a spoon, gently muddle the mulberries until they break down and release juice and color, but avoid pulverizing seeds.

2

Build the cocktail

Add Revelton Distillery mulberry gin to the muddled fruit mixture. Fill the shaker or mixing glass with ice (about 3/4 full). Cap the shaker and shake vigorously for 8–10 seconds to chill and integrate flavors.

3

Strain and top

Fill a double old-fashioned glass (or highball) with fresh ice. Double-strain the shaken mixture into the glass over the ice to keep pulp and seeds out (use a fine mesh strainer if available). Top the drink with approximately 3 oz grapefruit soda, pouring gently to preserve effervescence.

4

Garnish and finish

Give the drink a gentle stir (1–2 rotations) to combine the soda with the cocktail. Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge on the rim, a few whole mulberries on a skewer or floated, and an optional mint sprig for aroma. Serve immediately with a straw.
