Method

Making the Donut Batter

1

Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Whisk them together until well mixed.

2

Mix Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, beat the eggs. Add in the milk, vanilla extract, and melted unsalted butter. Whisk until smooth.

3

Combine Ingredients

Pour the wet mixture into the dry mixture. Stir gently until just combined; do not overmix.

Cooking the Donuts

4

Prepare the Frying Oil

In a deep pot or fryer, heat oil to 350°F (175°C). Ensure there is enough oil to submerge the donuts.

5

Shape the Donuts

Scoop the batter using a donut cutter or pipe the batter into the hot oil, forming circular shapes. Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side.

6

Drain Excess Oil

Using a slotted spoon, remove the donuts from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to absorb excess oil.

Adding Toppings

7

Prepare Glaze

In a small bowl, mix powdered sugar with milk to create a glaze. Adjust consistency as needed.

8

Add Toppings

Dip the warm donuts in the glaze and then sprinkle with your choice of toppings like sprinkles, chopped nuts, or cinnamon.
