Cocktail
Method
Cocktail
Prepare espresso
Pull a shot of fresh espresso (about 1 oz) or measure 1 oz of strong cold-brew concentrate. Let it cool slightly (30–60 seconds) so it doesn't melt the ice immediately when shaken.
Chill cocktail glass
If desired, place a coupe or rocks glass in the freezer or fill it with ice water to chill while you build the cocktail.
Combine ingredients
In a cocktail shaker, add Pathfinder Amaro (2 tbs), the prepared espresso (1 oz), coconut cream (1 oz), simple syrup (1/2 tbs) and vanilla extract (1/8 tsp, optional).
Dry shake (emulsify)
Without ice, secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds to emulsify the coconut cream with the espresso and amaro. This helps create a silky, foamy texture.
Wet shake (chill and dilute)
Add ice to the shaker (about 1 cup). Shake hard for 12–18 seconds until well-chilled and the shaker is frosty on the outside.
Strain and serve
Discard ice or water from your chilled glass. Double-strain the cocktail into the chilled coupe or rocks glass using a fine mesh strainer to remove ice shards and ensure a smooth texture.
Garnish
Lightly toast coconut flakes in a dry skillet until fragrant (optional). Sprinkle toasted coconut flakes or place 2–3 coffee beans on top of the foam as a garnish.
Serve
Serve immediately. Sip to experience the interplay of bitter, herbal Pathfinder Amaro, rich espresso, and creamy coconut.
