Method

Preparation

1

Prepare the Patties

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until well combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

2

Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, making a slight indentation in the center to prevent puffing during cooking.

3

Cook the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. Add cheese slices on top during the last minute of cooking to melt.

4

Assemble the Burgers

Toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster. Place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by the cooked patty, tomato slices, pickles, ketchup, and mustard. Top with the other half of the bun.

5

Serve

Serve the burgers warm with your favorite sides.
