1. Prepare the Meatball Mixture
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until fully combined.
2. Form the Meatballs
Using your hands, form the mixture into meatballs about 2 inches in diameter. Place the formed meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
3. Bake the Meatballs
Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F). Bake the meatballs for 20-25 minutes, or until cooked through and browned on the outside.

4. Sauté the Aromatics
In a saucepan, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing until the onion becomes translucent.
5. Add Crushed Tomatoes and Season
Add the canned crushed tomatoes to the saucepan along with dried oregano, salt, black pepper, and sugar. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.
6. Simmer the Sauce
Reduce the heat and let the sauce simmer for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add the chopped fresh basil just before serving.

While the meatballs are baking and the sauce is simmering, prepare the garnish. Tear the burrata cheese into pieces and set it aside.
8. Assemble the Dish
Once the meatballs are cooked, place them in the simmering tomato sauce to soak up the flavors for a few minutes. Serve the meatballs with a generous scoop of sauce, topped with burrata cheese, fresh basil leaves, and a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil.
9. Serve with Crostini
Serve the meatballs and sauce with crostini on the side for dipping.
