Preparation

Cocktail

1. Prepare glass (optional salt rim)

If you want a light salt rim, rub a lime wedge around the glass lip, then dip the rim into a shallow plate with the sea salt. Set the glass aside.

2. Muddle aromatics

In a cocktail shaker or mixing glass, add the cucumber slices and mint leaves. Gently muddle 6–8 times to release cucumber juice and mint aroma without pulverizing the herbs.

3. Add liquids

Add the gin, fresh lime juice, simple syrup, and saline solution to the shaker with the muddled cucumber and mint.

4. Shake with ice

Fill the shaker with ice (about 3/4 full) and shake vigorously for 10–12 seconds to chill and dilute the mixture slightly.

5. Fine strain

Double-strain the shaken mixture into the prepared glass (if using) over fresh ice, using a fine mesh strainer to remove bits of cucumber and mint.

6. Top with wine

Slowly top the cocktail with the Sauvignon Blanc (5 oz). Pour gently to preserve some effervescence and layering.

7. Stir lightly

Give the drink one gentle stir (1–2 rotations) with a bar spoon to integrate the wine and the shaken base without over-mixing.

Garnish

8. Thread a cucumber ribbon or place a cucumber wheel on the glass and add a mint sprig. Serve immediately.
