Butter Chicken Ingredients

Method

Butter Chicken Directions

1

Marinate the Chicken

In a bowl, combine the yogurt, lemon juice, garam masala, cumin, coriander, turmeric, red chili powder, and salt. Add the chicken thighs and coat them well. Marinate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight in the refrigerator.

2

Cook the Chicken

In a large pan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until golden brown. Stir in the ginger-garlic paste and sauté for another minute until fragrant.

3

Add Marinated Chicken

Add the marinated chicken to the pan and cook for 5-7 minutes until the chicken is browned on all sides.

4

Prepare the Sauce

Stir in the tomato puree and bring the mixture to a simmer. Cover and cook for about 15-20 minutes until the chicken is cooked through.

5

Finish with Cream

Reduce the heat to low and stir in the heavy cream. Simmer for an additional 5 minutes. Adjust seasoning with salt if needed.

6

Serve

Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot with rice or naan.
