Ranch Sauce Base

Method

Prepare Base

1

Combine creamy ingredients

In a medium bowl, whisk together 1 cup mayonnaise, 1/2 cup buttermilk, and 1/2 cup sour cream until smooth and homogenous.

2

If you prefer a thinner dressing, add milk or extra buttermilk 1 tablespoon at a time later until you reach desired consistency (see Optional Adjustments).

Add Herbs & Aromatics

3

Finely chop parsley, chives, and dill. Mince 1 garlic clove finely or grate it. Fold the chopped herbs and minced garlic into the creamy base, stirring until evenly distributed.

Seasoning & Balance

4

Add 3/4 teaspoon sea salt, 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, 1/2 teaspoon onion powder, 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/4 teaspoon dried dill (optional), and 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice to the mixture. Stir well and taste.

5

If the dressing tastes too sharp or acidic, whisk in 1/2 teaspoon sugar or honey to balance. To adjust thickness, stir in additional milk or buttermilk 1 tablespoon at a time until desired pourable consistency is reached.

Rest & Serve

6

For best flavor, cover and refrigerate the ranch sauce for at least 30 minutes to allow the herbs and seasonings to meld. Stir again before serving.

7

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 7 days. If separation occurs, stir or whisk briefly to recombine.
