Garnish & Rim

1

Prepare the sugar rim

Pour the superfine sugar onto a small plate. Run the lemon wedge around the rim of a chilled martini or coupe glass to wet it, then gently dip the rim into the sugar so it adheres evenly. Set the glass aside to let the rim set while you make the cocktail.

Cocktail

2

Place 6 fresh raspberries and the simple syrup into a cocktail shaker or mixing glass. Muddle gently until the raspberries are broken down and release their juice (about 15–20 seconds).

3

Add Absolut Citron (2 oz), fresh lemon juice (1 oz), and Cointreau or triple sec (0.25 oz, optional) to the shaker. Fill the shaker with ice (about 1 cup) to chill and dilute properly.

4

Shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker is very cold and well chilled.

5

Double-strain the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer into the prepared sugar-rimmed martini glass to remove raspberry seeds and pulp for a smooth martini.

6

Garnish with a fresh raspberry threaded on the rim or floated in the drink, and optionally a thin twist or wheel of lemon. Serve immediately.
