In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Slowly add the beer, mixing until smooth.

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the oil to 350°F (175°C).

Dip each shrimp into the batter, ensuring it is fully coated.

Carefully place the battered shrimp in the hot oil, frying in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Slice the hoagie buns and layer with shredded lettuce, sliced tomatoes, red onion rings, and fried shrimp. Drizzle with remoulade sauce.
