Base Carbonated Mix

Method

General Preparation

1

Chill

Ensure all syrups/concentrates and carbonated water are thoroughly chilled before mixing. Cold components preserve carbonation and flavor.

2

If using frozen lemonade concentrate, thaw in the refrigerator until pourable and stir to recombine any separated solids.

Assemble Individual Fountain Drinks

3

Coke (single serving)

Fill a 12-oz (about 1.5 cup) glass halfway with ice (about 1 cup). Measure 2 tablespoons (approximately 0.5 fl oz / 0.03 cups) of Coca-Cola syrup into the glass then slowly top with 1.25 cups (10 fl oz) cold carbonated water, pouring down the side to preserve carbonation. Stir gently once with a bar spoon or straw to combine. Serve immediately.

4

Diet Coke (single serving)

Fill a 12-oz glass halfway with ice. Add 2 tablespoons of Diet Coca-Cola syrup. Top slowly with 1.25 cups cold carbonated water, stir gently once, and serve.

5

Sprite (single serving)

Fill a 12-oz glass halfway with ice. Add 2 tablespoons of lemon-lime syrup. Top with 1.25 cups cold carbonated water, stir gently once, and serve.

6

Ginger Ale (single serving)

Fill a 12-oz glass halfway with ice. Add 2 tablespoons of ginger syrup. Top with 1.25 cups cold carbonated water, stir gently once. Optionally garnish with a mint sprig. Serve immediately.

7

Lemonade (single serving)

Fill a 12-oz glass halfway with ice. Pour 2 tablespoons of lemonade concentrate into the glass, then top with 1.25 cups cold still or lightly carbonated water depending on preferred style. Stir well to fully dilute the concentrate. Garnish with a lemon slice and mint if desired.

Batch Mixing (for multiple servings)

8

To prepare about 6 standard 12-oz servings of a single drink, multiply single-serving syrup/concentrate amounts by 6 and mix in a chilled pitcher. For each 6 servings: combine 3/4 cup syrup (6 x 2 Tbsp) with 7.5 cups cold carbonated water. Stir gently to combine, then pour over ice into individual glasses. Keep pitcher chilled and serve immediately to maintain carbonation.

9

If using a commercial soda fountain machine, follow manufacturer instructions to set syrup-to-water ratios (commonly 1:5 to 1:7 depending on syrup strength) and ensure CO2 supply and chilling system are functioning before dispensing.

Serving & Storage

10

Serve fountain drinks immediately over ice for best carbonation and flavor. Prepared mixed drinks lose carbonation and flavor if stored; keep syrups sealed in refrigerator and use within manufacturer-recommended timeframes. Mixed batch should be consumed within 2 hours if refrigerated and covered.
