Method
Prepare oven and pan
Preheat and prep pan
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish or line with parchment paper for easier cleanup.
Assemble sliders
Split rolls
Using a large serrated knife, slice the slider roll sheet horizontally through the middle to create a top and bottom half (if using individual rolls, slice each in half). Keep the halves together so they remain in order.
Arrange bottom layer
Place the bottom halves in a single layer in the prepared 9x13 pan, snug so the sliders touch each other slightly.
Layer ham and cheese
Evenly distribute the sliced ham over the bottom halves of the rolls. Lay one American cheese slice on top of the ham for each slider (if slices are large, you can tear to fit). For thicker sandwiches, fold ham so each slider has approximately 0.75–1.0 oz of ham.
Top layer
Place the top halves of the rolls over the cheese to re-form the slider sandwiches.
Make butter topping
Melt butter
In a small saucepan over low heat or in a microwave-safe bowl, melt the unsalted butter until fully liquid but not browned (about 30–45 seconds in microwave or 2–3 minutes on stovetop).
Whisk in seasonings
To the melted butter, whisk in the Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, poppy seeds, onion powder, garlic powder, honey (if using), salt, and black pepper until fully combined and smooth.
Brush and bake
Brush topping
Using a pastry brush or spoon, evenly brush about two-thirds of the butter mixture over the top of the roll tops. Reserve the remaining butter mixture to brush again after baking for extra shine and flavor.
Cover and bake
Cover the pan loosely with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated 350°F (175°C) oven for 12 minutes to heat through and melt the cheese. After 12 minutes, remove the foil and bake an additional 5–6 minutes, or until the tops are golden and the butter topping is slightly bubbling.
Finish and serve
Garnish and slice
Sprinkle the chopped fresh parsley over the top if using. Using a sharp knife, cut the slider block into 20 individual sliders by slicing between rolls. Serve warm with pickle slices on the side or tucked inside as desired.
Leftovers: Store cooled sliders in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat covered in a 300°F (150°C) oven for 8–10 minutes or until warmed through.
