Soda (Coca‑Cola style)

Method

Soda (Coca‑Cola style)

1

Chill and Prepare Glass

Place a highball or Collins glass in the refrigerator or freezer for 5–10 minutes prior to serving if you prefer extra cold soda. While the glass chills, ensure your Coca‑Cola is refrigerated and ready.

2

Add Ice

Remove the glass from the refrigerator and fill it with 4 ice cubes (adjust quantity to preference). Use fresh, clear ice for best appearance and slowest dilution.

3

Pour Cola

Slowly pour 1 cup (about 240 ml) of chilled Coca‑Cola into the glass over the ice. Pour down the side of the glass or over a spoon held against the inside of the glass to reduce foaming and preserve carbonation.

4

Add Citrus (Optional)

If desired, squeeze the lemon and/or lime wedge lightly over the soda to add a bright citrus note, then drop the wedge into the glass as garnish.

5

Garnish and Serve

Add a maraschino cherry on top if using. Insert a reusable straw if desired. Serve immediately while fizzy.

6

Notes: Adjust cola quantity for larger glasses — a typical 12 fl oz (355 ml) can equals about 1.5 cups. For variations, substitute diet or caffeine‑free cola, mix with flavored syrups (vanilla, cherry) at 1–2 tsp per cup, or make a Cuba Libre by adding 1 oz (30 ml) rum.
