Method

Smoothie Base

1

Prepare fruit

Peel the banana and break it into chunks. If using large berries, halve them. Measure out 1 cup frozen mixed berries.

2

Add to blender

Place banana chunks, frozen mixed berries, and 1 cup Greek yogurt into the blender jar.

3

Add liquid and sweetener

Pour in 1 cup milk and add 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup. This balances thickness and sweetness.

Boosters & Texture

4

Add dry boosters

Add 2 tablespoons rolled oats and 1 teaspoon ground flaxseed to the blender for fiber and creaminess. If you want a chocolate hint, add 1 teaspoon unsweetened cocoa powder.

5

Ice for chill and texture

Add 4 ice cubes to the blender to chill and slightly dilute the smoothie for a refreshing texture.

6

Blend

Secure the lid and blend on medium-high for 45–60 seconds, or until smooth and homogenous. Stop and scrape down the sides once with a spatula if needed, then blend another 10–15 seconds. If mixture is too thick, add up to 1/4 cup more milk and blend briefly; if too thin, add a few more ice cubes or 1/4 cup frozen berries and re-blend.

Garnish & Serve

7

Pour the smoothie into a 16-ounce glass. Garnish with a fresh mint leaf and a couple of sliced berries or banana on top if desired. Serve immediately.
