Method

Meatballs

1

Prepare the Meatball Mixture

In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, minced garlic, egg, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are combined.

2

Form the Meatballs

Using your hands, form the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter. Place the meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

3

Bake the Meatballs

Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F) and bake the meatballs for 20-25 minutes, or until browned and cooked through.

Spaghetti

4

Boil the Water

In a large pot, bring 4 liters of water to a boil. Add 1 tablespoon of salt.

5

Cook the Spaghetti

Add the spaghetti to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions, usually about 8-10 minutes, until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Sauce

6

Sauté the Aromatics

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.

7

Add the Tomatoes and Seasonings

Stir in crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a simmer and let it cook for 15 minutes.

8

Combine Sauce and Meatballs

Once the meatballs are done baking, add them to the sauce and let them simmer together for an additional 5 minutes.

Assembly

9

Combine Spaghetti and Sauce

In a large serving bowl, combine the cooked spaghetti with the meatball sauce. Toss gently to coat the spaghetti.

10

Serve

Serve immediately with extra Parmesan cheese and chopped parsley on top, if desired.
