Directions
Melt Chocolate and Butter
In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the semisweet chocolate and unsalted butter. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until completely melted and smooth.
Mix the Batter
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the melted chocolate mixture and powdered sugar until well combined. Add eggs, one at a time, whisking well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
Add Dry Ingredients
Sift together the flour, salt, and cocoa powder. Gradually fold the dry mixture into the chocolate mixture until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
Fill Ramekins
Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins, filling each about 3/4 full.
Bake
Place the ramekins on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 12-14 minutes. The edges should be firm, but the center should still be soft.
Cool and Serve
Let the cakes cool for 1 minute. Carefully run a knife around the edges of each ramekin, then invert onto a plate. Serve immediately, optionally with ice cream or whipped cream.
